The band just kicked off its “My Small Package Tour”, where it will be headlining across the country for the next month. Back in August, I was asked to take some portraits of Christopher Mercer (aka Rusko), for an upcoming piece in Alternative Press about dubstep. Initially, I was concerned about doing the shoot backstage, but I soon discovered the greatness that is the Electric Factory backstage. The main lounge was big and contained 2 pool tables, a shuffleboard table, a retro television, a big camel statue, and quite possibly the nicest one-handed bartender in Philadelphia. I had a few ideas in mind for the shoot, but ultimately it was the spontaneous shots using the elements from the room that I liked the best. Revelation Generation 2010 marked the third show that Mae performed with the recently-reunited original five band members. Over the course of the last eight years, Mae has toured the world over, from Japan to my small hometown of 4,000 people. Starting in October, the band will embark on the “Goodbye, Goodnight” tour with Terrible Things and Windsor Drive, before going on indefinite hiatus. Continue reading »
